Maria Sharapova Playing Tennis 2010

Sharapova withdrew 20 minutes before her semifinal match against Nadia Petrova at the East West Bank Classic on Saturday night because of a lower left leg strain.
Sharapova, the top seed, was coming off her first title of the year at last week's Acura Classic near San Diego
Russian star Maria Sharapova has pulled out of this weekend's Fed Cup semi-final against the USA.
The world number two, who has yet to make her debut in the team competition, has a shoulder injury and has been told to rest for 10 days by doctors.
Maria has been struggling with the problem for much of the current season and bowed out of Wimbledon at the last-16 stage last week.
Don't blame it on that girl
Sharapova never refused to be part of the team, she had a shoulder injury, that's why she couldn't face the last matches at Fed Cup; perhaps she might be with us at the finals against Italy", Tarpischev said in an interview to "Moscow Echo" radio station.

MARIA SHARAPOVA WALLPAPERS 2010

Maria Sharapova is a Russian professional tennis player.

Sharapova is represented Russia in Fed Cup, even though its performance has been controversial. Has been featured in several modeling tasks, including features in Sports Illustrated. In July 2008, as a consequence of its success, and on and off the court, was the world’s highest-paid female athlete.

Maria started hitting tennis balls at the age of four. At the age of six, Maria Sharapova participated in a exhibition in Moscow that featured Martina Navratilova.

So, at the age of nine, she began training at Nick Bollettieri's Tennis Academy located in Bradenton, Florida, USA. Therefore, during those two years, she was separated from her mother for two year due to visa restrictions and finances.

Maria occasionally travels with her father and works with tennis coach managers Michael Baroch and Robert Lansdorp. During her leisure time off court, Maria's interest includes modeling in fashion, singing, jazz dancing and movies (Pearl Harbor (2001)).

Maria enjoys reading books of her interest in the "Sherlock Holmes" and "Pippi Longstocking" collection series. Basically, Maria's favorite dessert is 'anything'. Maria favors Russian music and food, but except for Italian bread

FASHION WEEK MEMORIES A/W 2010

Fashion Week is always a crazy time for everyone involved, especially for the hardworking models whose feet barely touch the ground during the 4 weeks that take them across the Atlantic and around Europe. With so much going on its always fascinating to hear what moments made it a memorable Season for them and MDC caught up with 3 Elite girls to find out just that!

Jacquelyn Jablonski (74 Shows):
One of my most memorable moments from fashion week was from the Gareth Pugh show. I was one of two girls to have the long chain fake nails which required loads of glue to stay on. When the show was over, the manicurist quickly wrapped each of my nails in remover and tinfoil and I flew to the next show on a motorbike. During the ride, the tinfoil was falling off all my fingers and my hands were now frozen. When I got to the next show, everybody from hairstylists to models were trying to get my nails off but nobody could. In the end, I wasn’t able to get them off in time so I had to keep my hands in my pockets for both looks and was left with pieces of chains and chunks of glue stuck to my nails. Although it was super painful… the nails did look pretty cool :).

Sigrid Agren (70 Shows):
When I think about NY, i immediately think about the snow storm! It was the first time I have experienced one. At first I thought it was fun but then as I slipped on the pavement every 5 meters, and as my feet froze, I realized what a nightmare it was!
In London, my driver always drove crazy fast, and the car was so loud! Everybody in the streets would look at us!
My last night in Milan, i had the best plate of pasta at the La Traditzionale restaurant near my hotel with my agent. It felt so nice to sit down, take my time, and turn my phone off!
The best moment for me in Paris was at the Viktor and Rolf show because I had both of my parents, my grandparents (who had come to visit for 2 days) and my brother there, and all of them were in the audience watching
Constance Jablonski (61 Shows):
New York: I moved in my new apartment during the week, Packing at night waking up between boxes and luggage! Moving during fashion week is the worst time.
Milan: I was with a friend we forgot to take an European adapter for our US laptop, and there was only one more adapter left at the shop near the hotel. We had no choice so we traded the adapter every day, he had it during the day, I had it during the night!
Paris: My first meeting with Elle Macpherson at Louis Vuitton, I love her so much I asked her if I could take a picture with her with my Blackberry, but when I tried to look at it later in the day I realized it didn’t save. Such a shame!!

EML...NEXT STOP MANCHESTER!

So confident are we of finding some superstars in Manchester, we’re now going to be casting on SUNDAY 25th in the Trafford Centre too. We’ll be there from 1pm until 6pm on the Sunday (Central Peel Square), as well as 10am – 6pm on the Saturday, so if you think you’ve got what it takes to be Elite’s next top model, then we’d love to meet you!

CLEAN SWEEP

These summery editorials keep on coming and we LOVE this story featuring Sessilee Lopez in the latest issue of Allure Magazine. Taking on a far softer look then we are used to seeing the fierce Miss Lopez, these chic outfits are a wearable take on the scary all in white trend that resurfaces every summer, brought up to date with some oversized accessories. Sessilee’s relaxed and playful poses are captured by Regan Cameron, who judging by his recent editorial out in UK Vogue with Constance Jablonski is set to be our favourite photographer of the Season!

FROM SHEER TO ETERNITY

We’re delighted to see our very own Constance Jablonski (former EML contestant and new face of Estee Lauder) looking stunning in this month’s Vogue; surf, sand, sheer fabrics and an invitation to escape to the sun! Focusing on two trends, opaques and nudes shot by Regan Cameron and styled by Mirand Almond, Constance’s star quality shines through in this blissful editorial. A timely reminder that we need to be heading to the beach, or at least thinking about
it!
